Jdg 21:1 かつてイスラエルの人々はミヅパで、「われわれのうちひとりもその娘をベニヤミンびとの妻として与える者があってはならない」と言って誓ったので、
Jdg 21:2 民はベテルに行って、そこで夕暮まで神の前に座し、声をあげて激しく泣いて、
Jdg 21:3 言った、「イスラエルの神、主よ、どうしてイスラエルにこのような事が起って、今日イスラエルに一つの部族が欠けるようになったのですか」。
Jdg 21:4 翌日、民は早く起きて、そこに祭壇を築き、燔祭と酬恩祭をささげた。
Jdg 21:5 そしてイスラエルの人々は言った、「イスラエルのすべての部族のうちで集会に上って、主のもとに行かなかった者はだれか」。これは彼らがミヅパにのぼって、主のもとに行かない者のことについて大いなる誓いを立てて、「その人は必ず殺されなければならない」と言ったからである。
Jdg 21:6 しかしイスラエルの人々は兄弟ベニヤミンをあわれんで言った、「今日イスラエルに一つの部族が絶えた。
Jdg 21:7 われわれは主をさして、われわれの娘を彼らに妻として与えないと誓ったので、かの残った者どもに妻をめとらせるにはどうしたらよいであろうか」。
Jdg 21:8 彼らはまた言った、「イスラエルの部族のうちで、ミヅパにのぼって主のもとに行かなかったのはどの部族か」。ところがヤベシ・ギレアデからはひとりも陣営にきて集会に臨んだ者がなかった。
Jdg 21:9 すなわち民を集めて見ると、ヤベシ・ギレアデの住民はひとりもそこにいなかった。
Jdg 21:10 そこで会衆は勇士一万二千人をかしこにつかわし、これに命じて言った、「ヤベシ・ギレアデに行って、その住民を、女、子供もろともつるぎをもって撃て。
Jdg 21:11 そしてこのようにしなければならない。すなわち男および男と寝た女はことごとく滅ぼさなければならない」。
Jdg 21:12 こうして彼らはヤベシ・ギレアデの住民のうちで四百人の若い処女を獲た。これはまだ男と寝たことがなく、男を知らない者である。彼らはこれをカナンの地にあるシロの陣営に連れてきた。
Jdg 21:13 そこで全会衆は人をつかわして、リンモンの岩におるベニヤミンの人々に平和を告げた。
Jdg 21:14 ベニヤミンの人々がその時、帰ってきたので、彼らはヤベシ・ギレアデの女のうちから生かしておいた女をこれに与えたが、なお足りなかった。
Jdg 21:15 こうして民は、主がイスラエルの部族のうちに欠陥をつくられたことのために、ベニヤミンをあわれんだ。
Jdg 21:16 会衆の長老たちは言った、「ベニヤミンの女が絶えたので、かの残りの者どもに妻をめとらせるにはどうしたらよいでしょうか」。
Jdg 21:17 彼らはまた言った、「イスラエルから一つの部族が消えうせないためにベニヤミンのうちの残りの者どもに、あとつぎがなければならない。
Jdg 21:18 しかし、われわれの娘を彼らの妻に与えることはできない。イスラエルの人々が『ベニヤミンに妻を与える者はのろわれる』と言って誓ったからである」。
Jdg 21:19 それで彼らは言った、「年々シロに主の祭がある」。シロはベテルの北にあって、ベテルからシケムにのぼる大路の東、レバナの南にある。
Jdg 21:20 そして彼らはベニヤミンの人々に命じて言った、「あなたがたは行って、ぶどう畑に待ち伏せして、
Jdg 21:21 うかがいなさい。もしシロの娘たちが踊りを踊りに出てきたならば、ぶどう畑から出て、シロの娘たちのうちから、めいめい自分の妻をとって、ベニヤミンの地に連れて行きなさい。
Jdg 21:22 もしその父あるいは兄弟がきて、われわれに訴えるならば、われわれは彼らに、『われわれのために彼らをゆるしてください。戦争のときにわれわれは、彼らおのおのに妻をとってやらなかったし、またあなたがたも彼らに与えなかったからです。もし与えたならば、あなたがたは罪を犯したことになるからでした』と言いましょう」。
Jdg 21:23 ベニヤミンの人々はそのように行い、踊っている者どものうちから自分たちの数にしたがって妻を取り、それを連れて領地に帰り、町々を建てなおして、そこに住んだ。
Jdg 21:24 こうしてイスラエルの人々は、その時そこを去って、おのおのその部族および氏族に帰った。すなわちそこを立って、おのおのその嗣業の地に帰った。
Jdg 21:25 そのころ、イスラエルには王がなかったので、おのおの自分の目に正しいと見るところをおこなった。

Jdg 21:1 Now the men of Israel had sworn in Mizpeh, saying, There shall not any of us give his daughter unto Benjamin to wife.
Jdg 21:2 And the people came to the house of God, and abode there till even before God, and lifted up their voices, and wept sore;
Jdg 21:3 And said, O LORD God of Israel, why is this come to pass in Israel, that there should be to day one tribe lacking in Israel?
Jdg 21:4 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the people rose early, and built there an altar, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.
Jdg 21:5 And the children of Israel said, Who is there among all the tribes of Israel that came not up with the congregation unto the LORD? For they had made a great oath concerning him that came not up to the LORD to Mizpeh, saying, He shall surely be put to death.
Jdg 21:6 And the children of Israel repented them for Benjamin their brother, and said, There is one tribe cut off from Israel this day.
Jdg 21:7 How shall we do for wives for them that remain, seeing we have sworn by the LORD that we will not give them of our daughters to wives?
Jdg 21:8 And they said, What one is there of the tribes of Israel that came not up to Mizpeh to the LORD? And, behold, there came none to the camp from Jabeshgilead to the assembly.
Jdg 21:9 For the people were numbered, and, behold, there were none of the inhabitants of Jabeshgilead there.
Jdg 21:10 And the congregation sent thither twelve thousand men of the valiantest, and commanded them, saying, Go and smite the inhabitants of Jabeshgilead with the edge of the sword, with the women and the children.
Jdg 21:11 And this is the thing that ye shall do, Ye shall utterly destroy every male, and every woman that hath lain by man.
Jdg 21:12 And they found among the inhabitants of Jabeshgilead four hundred young virgins, that had known no man by lying with any male: and they brought them unto the camp to Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan.
Jdg 21:13 And the whole congregation sent some to speak to the children of Benjamin that were in the rock Rimmon, and to call peaceably unto them.
Jdg 21:14 And Benjamin came again at that time; and they gave them wives which they had saved alive of the women of Jabeshgilead: and yet so they sufficed them not.
Jdg 21:15 And the people repented them for Benjamin, because that the LORD had made a breach in the tribes of Israel.
Jdg 21:16 Then the elders of the congregation said, How shall we do for wives for them that remain, seeing the women are destroyed out of Benjamin?
Jdg 21:17 And they said, There must be an inheritance for them that be escaped of Benjamin, that a tribe be not destroyed out of Israel.
Jdg 21:18 Howbeit we may not give them wives of our daughters: for the children of Israel have sworn, saying, Cursed be he that giveth a wife to Benjamin.
Jdg 21:19 Then they said, Behold, there is a feast of the LORD in Shiloh yearly in a place which is on the north side of Bethel, on the east side of the highway that goeth up from Bethel to Shechem, and on the south of Lebonah.
Jdg 21:20 Therefore they commanded the children of Benjamin, saying, Go and lie in wait in the vineyards;
Jdg 21:21 And see, and, behold, if the daughters of Shiloh come out to dance in dances, then come ye out of the vineyards, and catch you every man his wife of the daughters of Shiloh, and go to the land of Benjamin.
Jdg 21:22 And it shall be, when their fathers or their brethren come unto us to complain, that we will say unto them, Be favourable unto them for our sakes: because we reserved not to each man his wife in the war: for ye did not give unto them at this time, that ye should be guilty.
Jdg 21:23 And the children of Benjamin did so, and took them wives, according to their number, of them that danced, whom they caught: and they went and returned unto their inheritance, and repaired the cities, and dwelt in them.
Jdg 21:24 And the children of Israel departed thence at that time, every man to his tribe and to his family, and they went out from thence every man to his inheritance.
Jdg 21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

Jdg 21 : 1 かつて イスラエル の ひとびと は ミヅパ で 、 「 われわれ の うち ひとり も そのむすめ を ベニヤ ミン びと の つま として あたえる もの が あっ て は なら ない 」 と いっ て ちかっ た ので 、 Jdg 21 : 2 みん は ベテル に いっ て 、 そこで ゆうぐれ まで かみ の まえ に ざし 、 こえ をあげ て はげしく ない て 、 Jdg 21 : 3 いっ た 、 「 イスラエル の かみ 、 おも よ 、 どうして イスラエル に この よう なこと が おこっ て 、 きょう イスラエル に ひとつ の ぶぞく が かける よう に なっ た の です か」 。 Jdg 21 : 4 よくじつ 、 みん は はやく おき て 、 そこ に さいだん を きずき 、 燔祭[?] と 酬恩[?] さい を ささげ た 。 Jdg 21 : 5 そして イスラエル の ひとびと は いっ た 、 「 イスラエル の すべて の ぶぞく の うち で しゅうかい に のぼっ て 、 あるじ の もと に いか なかっ た もの は だれ か 」 。 これ はかれら が ミヅパ に のぼっ て 、 あるじ の もと に いか ない もの の こと について おおいなるちかい を たて て 、 「 その ひと は かならず ころさ れ なけれ ば なら ない 」 と いっ た からで ある 。 Jdg 21 : 6 しかし イスラエル の ひとびと は きょうだい ベニヤ ミン を あわれん で いっ た 、「 きょう イスラエル に ひとつ の ぶぞく が たえ た 。 Jdg 21 : 7 われわれ は おも を さし て 、 われわれ の むすめ を かれら に つま として あたえない と ちかっ た ので 、 かの のこっ た もの ども に つま を めとら せる に は どう し たら よいで あろ う か 」 。 Jdg 21 : 8 かれら は また いっ た 、 「 イスラエル の ぶぞく の うち で 、 ミヅパ に のぼっ ておも の もと に いか なかっ た の は どの ぶぞく か 」 。 ところが ヤベシ・ギレアデ から は ひとり も じんえい に き て しゅうかい に のぞん だ もの が なかっ た 。 Jdg 21 : 9 すなわち みん を あつめ て みる と 、 ヤベシ・ギレアデ の じゅうみん は ひとり もそこ に い なかっ た 。 Jdg 21 : 10 そこ で かいしゅう は ゆうし いち まん に せん にん を かしこ に つかわし 、 これに めいじ て いっ た 、 「 ヤベシ・ギレアデ に いっ て 、 その じゅうみん を 、 おんな 、 こどももろ とも つる ぎ を もっ て うて 。 Jdg 21 : 11 そして この よう に し なけれ ば なら ない 。 すなわち おとこ および おとこ と ねた おんな は ことごとく ほろぼさ なけれ ば なら ない 」 。 Jdg 21 : 12 こうして かれら は ヤベシ・ギレアデ の じゅうみん の うち で よん ひゃく にん の わかい しょじょ を え た 。 これ は まだ おとこ と ね た こと が なく 、 おとこ を しら ない もの である 。 かれら は これ を カナン の ち に ある シロ の じんえい に つれ て き た 。 Jdg 21 : 13 そこ で ぜん かいしゅう は ひと を つかわし て 、 リンモン の いわ に おる ベニヤミン の ひとびと に へいわ を つげ た 。 Jdg 21 : 14 ベニヤ ミン の ひとびと が その とき 、 かえっ て き た ので 、 かれら は ヤベシ・ギレアデ の おんな の うち から いかし て おい た おんな を これ に あたえ た が 、 なお たりなかっ た 。 Jdg 21 : 15 こうして みん は 、 あるじ が イスラエル の ぶぞく の うち に けっかん を つくら れた こと の ため に 、 ベニヤ ミン を あわれん だ 。 Jdg 21 : 16 かいしゅう の ちょうろう たち は いっ た 、 「 ベニヤ ミン の おんな が たえ た ので 、 かの のこり の もの ども に つま を めとら せる に は どう し たら よい でしょ う か 」 。 Jdg 21 : 17 かれら は また いっ た 、 「 イスラエル から ひとつ の ぶぞく が きえうせ ない ため に ベニヤ ミン の うち の のこり の もの ども に 、 あと つぎ が なけれ ば なら ない 。 Jdg 21 : 18 しかし 、 われわれ の むすめ を かれら の つま に あたえる こと は でき ない 。イスラエル の ひとびと が 『 ベニヤ ミン に つま を あたえる もの は のろわ れる 』 と いっ てちかっ た から で ある 」 。 Jdg 21 : 19 それ で かれら は いっ た 、 「 ねんねん シロ に あるじ の まつり が ある 」 。シロ は ベテル の きた に あっ て 、 ベテル から シケム に のぼる おおじ の ひがし 、 レバナの みなみ に ある 。 Jdg 21 : 20 そして かれら は ベニヤ ミン の ひとびと に めいじ て いっ た 、 「 あなた がたは おこなっ て 、 ぶどう はたけ に まちぶせ し て 、 Jdg 21 : 21 うかがい なさい 。 もし シロ の むすめ たち が おどり を おどり に で て き た ならば 、 ぶどう はたけ から で て 、 シロ の むすめ たち の うち から 、 めいめい じぶん の つまを とっ て 、 ベニヤ ミン の ち に つれ て いき なさい 。 Jdg 21 : 22 も しそ の ちち あるいは きょうだい が き て 、 われわれ に うったえる なら ば 、われわれ は かれら に 、 『 われわれ の ため に かれら を ゆるし て ください 。 せんそう のとき に われわれ は 、 かれら おのおの に つま を とっ て やら なかっ た し 、 また あなた がた も かれら に あたえ なかっ た から です 。 もし あたえ た なら ば 、 あなた がた は つみ をおかし た こと に なる から でし た 』 と いい ましょ う 」 。 Jdg 21 : 23 ベニヤ ミン の ひとびと は その よう に おこない 、 おどっ て いる もの ども の うち から じぶん たち の かず に したがっ て つま を とり 、 それ を つれ て りょうち に かえり 、まち 々 を たて なおし て 、 そこ に すん だ 。 Jdg 21 : 24 こうして イスラエル の ひとびと は 、 その とき そこ を さっ て 、 おのおの そのぶぞく および しぞく に かえっ た 。 すなわち そこ を たっ て 、 おのおの その 嗣業[?] の ちに かえっ た 。 Jdg 21 : 25 その ころ 、 イスラエル に は おう が なかっ た ので 、 おのおの じぶん の め にただしい と みる ところ を おこなっ た 。
